A reader just asked - "Why didn't you check the tide table before you went out fishing?" Good point.
The skipper did - which is how we found out we had to wait two hours.
Fact is, I was not sure where to find the local tide tables. A friend just sent me a great link:
A fishing store in Panama posts the tide tables for every area of the country. It even tells you the moon phases and when the best time to fish is during the day: Go to: www.altapescapanama.com/home/la-tienda
Scroll to the bottom and click on TIDES 4 FISHING, and pick the area and date you want to fish - GREAT SITE - Thank you to Bruce J. for sending this to me. Roberto
PS: The fact that I did not catch anything should NOT reflect on the excellent fishing in Chiriqui - this is just my typical fishing luck. So far, only the Tropic Star Lodge has managed to get me hooked onto anything even remotely resembling a fish. However - there is always next time...
