Panama: whale watcher’s paradise

by Robert E. Baker (posted on The Panama Perspective)
We recently saw several of the largest creatures of the deep — the majestic humpback whales who annually migrate between their feeding and breeding homes from as far away as the ice-capped shores of Alaska to the tropical waters of Panama and South America.

Hello Rob and Yolanda, this is Natalie and Jeff, we have met a few times at Woodys. We are seeking some advise in hopes that you guys would have the answer?
Our GMC van has been in the country for three months now, and today were learned that we have to leave for 48 hours, were thought since we have the 6 month visa that our van did as well! We were very wrong.

The Environment wins

For once - the environment won.
The President of Panama, under pressure from the Noble-Bugle Indian tribe, repealled the contentious new mining law. This means at least one of the open pit mines the South Korean mining company (in co-operation with Canadian mining company Minera aka Inmet Mining) will be stopped. The companes stock dropped on the world markets as news of the setback hit the streets.

Town Center at Playa Blanca late
Written by T. Rob Brown (aka Roberto Chocolate)

Here is yet another e-mail from a person concerned about their project running late (NOTE: ALL projects run late in Panama - you have to be here to understand why - what I don't understand is why these real estate agents and developers keep telling people dates they know they will never achieve) Roberto
Hi Roberto, I wonder if you have any information on the project [Town center] It was to be ready at Xmas 2010. We live in Canada the developer has never sent any information on the status of the building. We are wondering if you could shed some light on the status of the town center. Your help would be greatly appreciated. By the way my wife and I met you last year at Woody's.

Written by T. Rob Brown (aka Roberto Chocolate)

Roberto:
I was wanting to find out if you could recommend a hotel or cabin or something in your area for a few days.
We are working on finalizing our trip plans and it looks like it will be around the first part of July, 2011.
We need something nice and clean, doesn't have to be fancy or expensive...
