Does it rain all the time?

E-mail Print PDF

 Hi,

Happy Canada day to all of you.

The weather here is absolutely gorgeous.

I was just looking at the forecast in Panama -- hot and humid and plenty of rain!

Curious, does it rain everyday?

All day?

A few hours each day?

????

Cheers, got to get back to cocktails with my sweetheart.

B. J.,  Picton ON

My response:

The forecast online is usually just for Panama City, which is sea-level, and built in a rain forest - and yes - it rains for an hour everyday - it is sunny and humid right now - at 7:18 A.M.

By 3 PM it will cloud over and pour for an hour.

We live In the "dry arch" area of the Pacific Beaches where it does not rain from December to March - and even then, only three or four times a week - again for an hour.

"Absolutely gorgeous" is a matter of perspective - it may be sunny and dry in Ontario today (during those few short weeks between frostbite and slush we called summer) - but the taxes, the prices, the over-regulated everything from building  permits to rules about just bout anything you care to mention, and the winters are still with you - I know - I lived in Ontario for fifty years before thawing out my brain and heading south.

It is 25 degrees Celsius here today, and sunny. In a few minutes we will be eating breakfast beside the ocean, and it will cost us four dollar for two people. THAT, to me - is absolutely gorgeous. This afternoon I wil quaff a cold one in a bar, and it will cost me $1.00 (double the grocery store price)

My mother-in-law Yanka came up with a new slogan - "It may be better in the Bahamas - but it is Perfect in Panama"
And Panama has never had a hurricane in recorded history. LOL
Enjoy your summer.
