UPDATE: Insurance company selected to provide medical insurance to tourists.

The insurance company Generali won the contract for providing tourist insurance for all visitors to Panama who arrive through the Tocumen International Airport.
Tourism Director Salomon Shamah announced the decision, adding this tourism incentive will provide visitors with up to $7,000 in coverage in case of hospitalization and $40,000 if they have to be moved to a medical facility abroad for medical attention regarding an injury here in Panama.
The cost of the medical insurance will be $1.95 per visitor. (reported by El Visitante/The Visitor newspaper: link: bit.ly/aQ3SlV)
